This year the Singlehanded Sailing Society is sponsoring its 20th Biennial Transpacific Yacht Race.

During previous years only family and close friends were invited to the Transpac luncheon. In a break from tradition, all members of the SSS are invited to attend the luncheon. You are invited to register for the 2016 Transpac Aloha Luncheon. Registrations are being handled through Jibeset.

The Aloha Luncheon for the 2016 Transpacific Yacht Race will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at the Corinthian Yacht Club. The Skippers’ Meeting, for registered racers only, will be held at the Corinthian at 10 am that morning, the luncheon to follow at Noon. This is a swanky place. The food and service and location will be exquisite.

There is no expense to Transpac participants to the Aloha Luncheon. Two additional guests of participants will be accommodated at a cost of $40 per person. For everyone else, the cost is a bit more. The SSS will pick up the difference between what it is really costing and the cost per person. The most frugal sailing club in the San Francisco Bay is pulling out all the stops for its Buglighters.

Jim Erskine, a long time member of the Singlehanded Sailing Society as well as a Corinthian Yacht Club member, is sponsoring the luncheon. Jim’s sponsorship means that we get a really big break on the cost of the venue, and he also spoke on our behalf in order to limit the food expense, too. If you speak with Jim, please consider thanking him.
