Hi everyone,

I was thinking we can all relive the experience a bit and lessen or perhaps worsen the re-entry blues.

It has been discussed in these forums that we will have a little reunion in October somewhere in Sausalito.

A few things:

1) The somewhere will depend on how many people would like to attend, so please use this forum to voice your interest - ANYONE CAN COME. (check with anyone who doesn't wander these halls often)

2) Best Date: Only Date that is out for us is October 22nd. I will shoot for the last three weekends of October (excluding the 22nd) - let me know if any dates 100% dont work for you.

Once I get a rough guesstimate of the headcount I will share the potential venues (and their associated cost if applicable) and we can go from there. Worst case - we push this to a date where more people can attend.

Live long and prosper.

Susan and Michael (Mouton Noir) are out.
We will be in the desert. Yes, we like the extremes.

Hi everyone,

The date is set - October 23rd. I hope everyone can make it.

I am still working on the venue:

I investigated all the parks in Sausalito that allow you to reserve a spot. They are always swarming with 'undesirable' locals and the porta-pottys are horrible. So that is a no-go.

I am waiting to hear back from Spaulding Wooden Boat Works - it would be a great venue with a small cost associated with it.

If its 15 or less, Bri and I would be happy to host at our place.

Worst Case - Smitty's Bar, but its not the best venue.

I have a few other leads that I am tracking down, but please let me know if you have any ideas.

Will get back to you shortly!

Since I've never singlehanded to Hawaii, so I'm not part of the pary, but here's a suggestion. What about Alaya (Hospital) Cove on Angel Island? There are mooring/berth fees, but once you're on the island there are lots of picnic tables and the bathrooms are State Park quality. You can also park for $5.00 along Tiburon Blvd. and walk down to the ferry. Take a bike even.

Plans for great sailing adventures have been conceived there - and some future sailors!

Maybe consider having it at the cruise out down at Sequoia Yacht Club Nov 5?

How do people feel about November 12 or 13 (6th is also a possibility) at Spaulding? They gave me a great rate and they will set it up nice for us. Pizzas and beer would bring it to about $25 bucks a person. If there is no interest in that then we can go the Sequoia route - might be easier for some to get there? But Marin is so nice :)

I am ok with either of the November Dates and potential venues
the 6th will be problematic for those going to the other end of the bay on 11/5 however.

Ahoy! Tortuga will try to attend the SHTP Reunion as well. All great ideas so far, its so hard to lock in a date but lets keep trying.
That second weekend in Nov would work for us.
I really like the idea of doing it at Angel Island, that way people can bring their boats too and we could picnic on the green there at Ayala Cove. Almost like tree time.
Happy to have any stow aways on board that need a way to get to the island.
My 2 cents. Cheers

I totally agree - the closer we can make this to treetime the better. Lets shoot for angel island on November 12th. What say you?

See you there!!

Great! Be there or be square. Once we get a better sense of what boats are coming I will coordinate to ensure enough beer/wine/food make it out there. Also, we can figure out pickup spots for those of us who no longer have boats :(

All right everyone - gird your loins!

Let us do a roll call.

I have spoken with the following people and they intend to make it:

Jiri - yes I speak to myself - NO BOAT
Bri - No Boat
Gregory - No Boat
Robert - Might bring NINA

Whom else is in? And for those bringing boats, does anyone want to do a pickup (Sausalito so far has the most boatless confirmed attendees)

Jiri

"if you build it they will come" - Thanks Jackie. I can't wait to see everyone! Please remember to bring your own snacks/drinks etc...

Is no one leaving from Sausalito!? Gregory, Bri, and I could use a ride. Otherwise we will try to get on one of the boats leaving from Eastbay or the City front.

Well, change of plans. I have some work and family emergencies that have surfaced, so can’t spend the day having fun with the racers. Regards to all of the skippers!

Hello Everyone,
I am out in Moab, Utah and could not make it. I hope that it was fun. Sorry to not be able to reconnect with all those with whom I shared the adventure this year. Hopefully I will be seeing you when I return to the Bay area.
All the best,
Michael
