Volunteers,

Calling all hands, calling all hands! We are in need of eager sailors that want to pitch-in and keep our SSS vessel on track. We have openings for a Treasurer and Race Information Officer. The terms are for 3 years, but we are flexible if a shorter period is more suitable.

Self nominations welcomed by emailing commodore@sfbaysss.org or any board members listed on our contacts page. Nominees should put forth their relevant experience, but our hands-on training, the envy of German and Japanese efficiency, is available. Single-handed racing experience highly preferred. Nominations will close at the end of Sunday, Dec. 13th and the board will vote on Dec. 17.

Treasurer’s key duties:
-Actively participates in discussions and votes on SSS matters & decisions.
-Maintains permanent records to track funds and financial transactions
-Leads the development of a budget and prepares annual budget for adoption
-Pays all SSS bills as authorized by board
-Prepares reports for every board meeting and an annual financial report
-Ensures taxes and reports required by federal and state governments are completed and submitted by the due dates

-Benefits: As the Purser, you get to hold the money even though it is not yours. Profess yourself as a board member of the highly esteemed SSS, founded in 1978.

Race Information Officer key duties:
-Reports to Race Chair and Race Committee
-Primarily reviews and approves entrants on Jibeset in a timely manner in advance of race dates.
-Actively participates and influences board discussions but will not have an official vote.

-Assists and resolves issues that registrants may have. On occasion this involves calling registrant on your cell.

Thank you,

Joe Balderrama
