There's a nice article about the '07 Three Bridge in the new (Jan. '08) issue of Sail Magazine.

Hey Bill -

any chance you can get a copy of the article and post it for those of us that don't have Sail magazine?

Probably best to call Kimball Livingston, Sail's Senior Editor for the West Coast at (415) 682-4622 or e-mail him at:

kimball.livingston (at) primedia (dot) com

He came to dinner with us during the 2006 SHTP "weigh-in" at the Richmond YC. He might approve of a link to their article from our website - dunno.

Maybe this year Sail would consider writing an article about the SHTP?

Sail is interested in doing an article for the June or July '08 issue. I'm coordinating the information for the race committee with Kimball. Anyone with ideas, please post them here, on the forum, or contact me at 415-331-8820. We want/need to have a single point of contact or we run the risk of looking disorganized.

Among the things they're interested in writing about are:

History of the race.

Description of the race.

Types of boats.

A few (5-6) of the racers who represent the types of sailors in the race - oldest, youngest, most experienced, least experienced, etc.

Boat prep: equipment, modifications, etc.

Any help and advice is very much needed and welcomed and an article in a national magazine right before the race should help us get entrees for 2010. It should also increase the number of folks who follow the race online. Please contact me with your thoughts.

Bill I have a copy of the Excel spreadsheet listing all the competitors, boat names and their finish times from Race 1 through 1996 race. I'd be happy to make it available.

Alan or Bill,

You would be my new best friend if one of you could update the list to present day, then I'll also get it posted to the web site!
