I am looking to buy an old ST1000 or ST2000 that still works

My ST1000 has lost it's brain. The motor still works but it doesn't do anything automatically anymore. Singlehanded sailing is a whole lot more work without an auto-pilot. Does anyone have an old Raymarine ST1000 or ST2000 that is still in working order that they would like to sell?

Aboard Rags we have the opposite problem - the skipper loses his brain while on autopilot and runs into stuff.

There's a 2000+ on Craigslist right now but the guy wants too much money for it (IMO):

If you come up empty before the next race let me know and you can borrow my backup 2000+. I have a (wired) remote for it too if you want to play with that. You can sit on the head and drive the boat . . .

Two items:

I have a brand new ST2000+ , still in box. But probably asking too much.

2nd item. have you looked at the board on the ST1000 ? I have rebuilt two of them and was able to recover operation. Would be happy to look at yours. Damage depending, it may be repairable.
