Does anyone know who is returning Single handed?
A special thanks from everyone at Hope for the Warriors to Bob and Rob for mentoring Ronnie through the system. In fact many in the SF Bay sailing community stepped up and were a big part in making...
Thank You for doing the overlays, dumbs down the process for me.
In reference to Synthia's Post
I will never fly a kite singlehanded without a spinnaker net.
I will never use a spinnaker sock again.
I will always head downwind to raise and drop a kite.

I understand why you are concerned about rig saftey. When it comes to inspection though I have a problem with paying a rigger to inspect my rig when I am more than qualified to inspect my own. I do...
Warriors Wish is a strong 3 right now, but I am not going to be aboard.....news at 10.....stay tuned
I have done 2 Bermuda 1-2's and the 2008 solo Transpac. I originally started out a NKE system and the GP4000 drive. The drive failed within 500 miles. I returned it to Raymarine and they furnished...
Its 40 degrees but the first snow fall has melted. I am getting ready for the Bermuda 1-2 and hoping the economy changes soon enough for me to race the SHTP again. I am watching what you are going...
I made the decision to split my rudder tube and go with a custom below decks installation. This decision was made after two raymarine tiller pilot DRIVES failed during the Bermuda 1-2 (they were not...
If Skip chose to step off of Wildflower it had to be real bad. She was part of him....its a sad day.
Don / Warriors Wish
Warriors Wish arrived Friday afternoon at Sverduson(sp).
Missing bottom 4 " of rudder due to a altercation with Tractor Trailor, no protest filed.
I wish someone would please turn on the...
I am not a member of SSS, I have never volunteered for any activity within the SHTP, I have never crossed the starting line. I have nothing but this years entry fee vested in this event. I have...
Eric I plan on leaving NC on June 23 allowing 4 days driving time and 1 emergency day. I plan on staying at Marina Village and if the facilities are as friendly and professional as the dockmaster I...
Thanks Rob,
The 2 weeks before hand will not make it practical for me. I might ship from NC or rethink what I will need for the return trip. Don
Can we please revisit these two topics.
I have a saildrive. The prop does occasionally spin when the engine is in neutral, but not always. This could be because one of the blades has failed to...
Warriors Wish is home from the NC coast (I sail 5 hours from where I live) after spending the last 3 months in the water getting ready for the Singlehanded Transpac 2008. I wanted to thank everyone...
Would some of you old hands give me an idea as to what to expect for wind conditions in a typical transpac race. Thanks, Don
Recently received the new check list and saw what I believe to be a typo on the certification date for life rafts. I assume it is meant to read "The certificate shall be dated no earlier than August...
Tom I have a new Plastimo Bladder that I will send you to try. I have decided not to use it. Give me a call if you are interested.....Don

FYI, Warriors Wish will use a Davis Echomaster hung from the windward spreader to avoid chafe. Just one more thing I have to do when I gybe. Thank You for all of the info posted to this site.
If only I could figure out how to get it 13 ft of the water
Simple approach however when eased the mainsail chafes against it. I thought about keeping the reflector on the windward side and simply gybing when neccessary. Am I over reacting to the chafe?
I apologize for revisiting this subject however I am struggling for a good solution and hope perhaps one of you has a suggestion.
I believe that unless I go to an active system my alternative is a...
Hi Bob,
I am currently planning on sailing back but if the numbers are right I might ship back.
I have a trailer which I would have to get to San Diego from SF for shipment to Hawaii and then fly...
Bill I am doing my second race of this type, Bermuda 1-2 last year , Transpac this year and then hopefully Ostar in 2009. It is interesting to see the differences in the saftey and equipment regs...
