2005 Columbia 30 Sportboat $60,000
Well cared-for example of Columbia’s ocean-capable mini-sled. Set up to requirements of SHTP and/or Pac Cup.

Andy,
Thank you very much for your work in creating this book!
Gary,
I went through the same thing ten years ago this summer. The first month or so of recovery is a little tough, but things get better after that.
Many things have changed in ten years, and...
To all,
Below is an excerpt from and email I sent to Synthia tonight - this is the hardest email I've ever had to write:
Synthia,
I returned from my qualifier and, after getting some much...
Rich,
Nobody who has actually gone through the work and the cost (both financial and emotional) involved in getting ready for one of these races could possibly criticize your decision, or the...
I'm beginning to look for a safe marina to keep my boat in the water from approx 1 June until relocating for the start. Is there any particular marina or area where non-local SHTP boats have...
Thanks to all for the clarification. I'd already bought a new Davis Echomaster, but it'll be a PIA to install, as I worry about chafe also. The Mobri was very tempting........
I'm looking at pole...
If I understand this right, once the official word comes down, then the Mobri S-2 would now comply with the rules, as its published RCS is 2.0 sq meters?
Just to confirm...with the dial in number and passcode be the same for this seminar?
To all,
My entry form and check went in the mail tonight - I don't know how, but I'm gonna be there. I've got a lot of work to do, and a lot of logistics to work out, but I'm gonna do my best to...
To those who were kind enough to inquire, I was fortunate to sell both sails last weekend.
I grossly underestimated the amount of time (and money, for that matter) that it would take to prepare for the SHTP. Bottom line...I won't be able to make the race this year.
I'll continue with my...
These two spinnakers are taking up room that I need; they don't fit on my present boat, and I'd like them to end up with someone who can make good use of them.
So, I'm lowering the price as...
Bob,
The Ericson was the standard rig (I=36.5).
The .75 ounce is from Sobstad; the 1.2 ounce is from a sailmaker called Kenneth Watts Sails (Torrance CA).
I have two symmetrical spinnakers from my previous Ericson 29 that aren't suitable for my present boat. Available separately or as a matched pair:
.75 ounce in nearly brand-new condition. 35'6"...
Synthia,
A check's in the mail - I picked up some good information in the seminar.
Will the teleconference phone number and participant passcode be the same as for the November seminar?
I'll be dialing in if the link is available.
Alan,
I plan to use a satphone with voice connection, and have a land-based contact email information to the RC.
Overall, I plan a decidedly low-tech approach to this event.
I'll put a check in the mail Monday.
The dial-in, while not perfect, was much better than missing the seminar. And six bucks worth of gas wouldn't get me out of the LA basin.
Thanks again to...
Brian and everyone involved,
Thanks for setting this up - it's much appreciated.
I'll dial in at 7.
I won't be able to attend the November seminar, but would like to acquire whatever presentation or notes may be available if possible.
I also wonder whether there has been any new developments...
Max,
Just curious....are there any lessons learned that you can you share regarding what NOT to do when building out of foam and glass?
Lou,
I'm unfamiliar - who or what is GMN?
I'm planning using a satphone for check in as well
Thanks!
John
From all of you veterans, what tips do you have regarding mast climbing equipment and techniques for use during the race?
I hope to never need it, But I remember that Jim Tallet climbed his mast...
