Congrats on completing your qualifier. From the videos it looks like great weather for a relaxed 400 nm sail.

Your workshop looks very similar to mine, even down to the blue and green work benches!
Good to know about the PL100, that will be very useful when I start my e rudder. Thanks
Hi Jeff,
This is a difficult thing to answer as most used rafts will be OK but you won't know until it's repacked. If it fails the test you're out the price of the raft, if it passes you're fine and...
Wow, great job on the rudder. Very clean build.
Very interesting experience Philippe. It's great you got some real open ocean experience but too bad there were limited real instruction/opportunities for in depth sail training. It sounds like a lot...
Hi Dave,
I have hull #14 up in Seattle. Great boat so far...still adding "required equipment" in hopes of SHTP in 2020 (wanted to do 2018 but have a big project at work). I would love to follow...
Congrats Sean, chutes are a ton of fun!
My small project list is pretty minor, replace halyards, better storage in interior, etc. My long term (before any attempt at SHTP or qualifier) is pull mast, remove and check chainplates, survey...
If everyone smells the same the personal hygiene will be less of a problem...
Wow, the Clipper race sounds pretty cool. That will be a very interesting leg, lots of heavy weather experience for sure.
Yes, the control box is waterproof so OK to mount outside.
Wow, a Pfaff 230 for $100 is a steal! That's a great machine and will last for decades as long as it's kept lubed and exercised. You can make pretty much any sail you want with that machine. I had a...
Philippe, nice videos.
You'll like the Pelagic Autopilot, really works well and the remote control is super handy. I can gybe from the foredeck using the remote while I change the spinnaker pole.

Doesn't sound like a lot of fun. The Olson doesn't take much water in the bilge to have it sloshing a over, that a downside to the shallow hull shape . A couple of gallons will feel like the boat is...
Hi Alan,
There are very few small walking foot zig zag machines out there, mostly Sailrites or copies of that design. These machines are designed for heavy cloth and will probably be OK with 4-5...
Thank you Philippe,
The autopilot is working very well. I'm still getting the hang of it's tacking speed and using the remote control but really useful. I wish I had shorter access to the ocean to...
Good job Philippe.
I've been working on my Olson 29; new sheets and halyards and autopilot installation. It's a long way to the ocean from Seattle so just doing short local sails in Elliott Bay for...
I like that mounting Bob.
I have old Signet gauges that are dead so need to put a piece of wood or G10 to fill those holes and will just mount the control on the new plate.
Hi Andrew,
Yes, I'm looking forward to that as well. This weekend for the initial testing I kept it to working sails as I get used to response times and using the remote control. Hopefully it will...
I just finished installing the Pelagic autopilot on Ronin, my Olson29. Went in without a hitch and worked great this weekend. I've posted a video on YouTube look up Olson 29 Ronin for a quick look at...
Very interesting concept
Hi Jeff,
A Cross 24 is a very small boat. I used to be in partnership with Norm Cross on his 32R "Crossfire" and he told me that the reason he designed Crossfire was that his earlier 24 was too...
I ordered a Pelagic system last week for my Olson 29. Have had good comms with Brian with lots of questions, patient man.
Dave
Hi Philippe,
Heaving to (small jib backwinded and main mostly eased) will leave a little way on; the slick will not do much as you discovered.
Multihull qualifier has to have downwind component because that is the point of sail responsible for most multihull capsizes.
