Not sure about this boat in particular but on mine that aft hatch is indeed where the raft is stored. It's bigger though.
Thanks. It looks like a new boat (2021): https://www.class40.com/fr/bateaux/179-groupe-berkem.htm

Thanks, looking forward to adding them to CaB.
Love this!
I can't say that I recognize him but I'd venture an educated guess that we are looking at Tanguy de Lamotte.
Good point! I forgot about the strikes. I do recall recommendations about sticking a battery-powered GPS into the oven (which of course I don't have on my boat). I wonder if an EMP pouch would work...

Thanks to Ants for helping bore the sheave further. Lesson learned: even though something looks out of sorts on the boat, there probably is a good reason for it and if I try to improve things I'm in...
For those wondering how the sheave broke: the tack got loose when hoisting the job and when pulling the last bit hard, nothing stopped the head from hitting the sheave.
Would anyone have this book and willing to loan/gift?
Reviving this request ... Weekends only.
Thanks for the memories!
Happy retirement days!
Good stuff!
