I believe Moss Landing allows DIY work, or it did. On your boat is likely 20 min south with the A0 up.
I wonder if Cliff has his taxes done ?
Redsky - Olson 34 - has been without a forward gear for two months. The marina members were asking lots of questions about why she was seen backing down the fairway several times. As of this...
Hey Bill, so awesome of you to maintain this. All the volunteer work that's goes 8into the SHTP is what defines it's character .
Tuesday, Feb 1 it appears a system will move through the area bringing winds with it. Hope to see a few boats out in the breeze.
That is great. I recall greeting light speed on a squally evening in Hanalai Bay a few minutes after crossing the finish line to the SHTP. A somewhat dazed skipper, shining a head lamp, dug out an...
Final Product , 8 coats of varnish and re sanding back to bare wood twice.

Re sanded - re stained - and one pass with varnish - getting closer: 6982
Thanks Bob,
My boat suffers from lack of varnish care and here I am working on a trophy !
Maybe. Let me try another pass with sanding. Novato , while a nice destination, is a long drive from Los Gatos.
Thanks.
I sanded the old surface down to bare wood, thought I had all the old name plague discoloration worked through. Alas, a test coat of stain and they re appear ! Time for another pass at sanding more...
What year are you referencing ? This would be a good time to remove any boats that don't belong on the trophy. Everyone send in your lists :)
I still have all my fingers, proof positive she knows
The Jim Tallot ULDB Trophy (Kyle won this in 2021) has become a larger project than anticipated. To remove remnants of the old corroded plaques is requiring sanding and re-staining the base. All...
Hey Tom,
I am betting you will need the club radios. They are in the SHTP packing case. We need to transfer them over. BB
Yes, Kyle stopped by and said hello just prior to the start. I just got the plaques from the engraver.
I suppose all that can be corrected with Board approval. Maybe a protest is in order ? Meanwhile I am proceeding with a rebuild of the labels and the creation of a more ordered plaque placement. ...

Tom,
Thanks for SI's. The PDF seems to not contain the referenced chartlet - I know this is a YRA doc .
The Board has approved $$$'s to upgrade/refresh some of the SHTP trophies. Plaques were getting a bit corroded, the ordering was mysterious, likely due to the fact that the space on some trophies...
Sailing Today: USCG boards Red-Sky . Another quiet day in the South Bay, with the exception of the SFO aircraft ascending. I was out sailing in circles, no vessels in sight. A USCG rib,...
Issues:
- Trophies - a true PITA. Racers don't want to take the large trophies home on their boats, or by other means. Going forward the SSS should not ship these to Hawaii as they just need to...
anything else Robb ? Ice cream ?
Awesome job Chad and crew.
