Default Long Distance VHF Comms test by RedSky Updated Schedule during Long Pac

RedSky (Brian B) will come on VHF on the following schedule (prior to official VHF Net time at 09:00 and 21:00) to test his Long Distance Comm equipment and looks forward to communicating with the fleet as far out on the course as possible. Anyone wishing to participate can sign on early to VHF as below to chat, or stay on after roll call.

    Wed: 0830 pm
    Thru: 0830 am, 0830 pm
Fri: 0830 am, 0830 pm (Maybe, depends on spread of fleet).

He will listen to the roll call at 0900 and record what he hears. He will
also attempt to chat with boats with weaker signals to see how it all
    works, if at all.

I would be interested in seeing the results of the tests.

Here is the antenna Brian made. We talked with CarolE, he was about 35 miles from the turn point

OK, so now I'm really confused. Which "hill" are you on? How far up do you need to be to make it work that far offshore?
