Due to ongoing technical issues, sleddog is unable to log-in or post to the SSS Forum. He hopes to return soon. If anyone else is experiencing difficulties with accessing the Forum, please notify the webmaster.

It's probably not Sled's problem - I've been having trouble posting too. Hopefully the Admin can get to the bottom of it. In the meantime, he should try using the refresh button on his browser - repeatedly. When the forum is working properly you should also be able to start threads. If you can post at all, you can start threads.

I've had no problems logging on, but I do have a problem getting 1 or 2 crew for Sunday's SYC Mid-Winter Race #1. If someone would like to ride along on a Wyliecat 30 for the afternoon race, please let me know. Late lunch/early dinner at the club following the race. Thanks, Pat Broderick (seven-0-seven, five 2 eight, two one 0 nine)

The wind is back. Is anyone interested in meeting up Wednesday? BYOB. I'm sailng out of Berkeley. This might be your only chance to see Dura Mater all nice and clean. 9:31 am= 2.6 max ebb; 1:30 slack, 4:37= 2.5 max flood.

The wind is baaaack! Sailed over to the city front with my friend Jocelyn and saw the the black sailed AC boat planing across the bay with three - yes, three - chase boats in attendance. Slow start, but very nice breeze by mid afternoon. 16.5 knots according to the OCSC windmeter. The chocolate drawer was full (buy 2 get one free at Pharmaca) and we had strong cups of Medaglio espresso w lots of cream on the run home. A bit too much wind for the spinnaker at this stage of my development (the wisdom of experience), and a chat with Brian Cline aboard Maris back at O Dock. "Yo ho yo ho the sailing life for me" (Pirates of the Caribbean ride, Disneyland).

I got my big limo company done today and I'm mostly done with the food wholesaler and the professional hackers in the UK. Maybe tomorrow I'll start on the S-corp that has something to do with porn.

    I'D RATHER BE SAILINGGGGGGG!

"Quick, Dura Mater! Before the summer wind really kicks in! Let's try that ole spinnaker trick again."
"Okay, Kemosabe. Is that where I lay on my side and you use foul language?"
"It shouldn't be like that tomorrow. It has barely notched higher than 10 knots for days."
"(Dura Mater sighs). Again with the spinnaker? Can't we just go out there and float around while you make yourself a coffee and read another chapter of Heiberg's book?"
"Nah. That's not purposeful. We have to accomplish something. Think Protestant ethic in the nautical sense."
"(Dura Mater rolls her nav lights) Fine. Just don't embarrass me. There will be OCSC school boats out there."
"Thanks, DM. You're the best. Let's hope Laura doesn't lower your rating too much with this spinnaker added to your certificate."

Speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean, one of the 25 things you might not know is that if you see 4 Capt Jack Sparrows as you float around you've seen Johhny Depp himself. He's allowed to play behind the ride when he wants to!
