Anyone have thoughts, good or bad, on Suncor DIY lifeline kit? Is it offshore capable or only good for close to shore use?

Can't comment on the price ($199 for 44 ft kit) but looks easier to install than using swage fittings (which is how I did mine), and the result should be the same. I've always been happy with Sailrite products and it seems this system, using bare (uncoated) wires, would meet SHTP requirements. I don't think it applies here (hopefully) but I had to return my 1st set to WM when the wire rusted (one strand) within a month or so. WM gave me new material but I had to repeat the labor. Have you considered using spectra?
I thought, maybe I read it wrong or the wrong spec, that rule 3.14.6 stated that you could not longer use spectra.
NorCal ORC 2.4.1 says synthetic still OK

Just don't use stainless with vinyl coating.
I've used Suncor fittings for 1/8 in. standing rigging on my O'day 22 and have been pleased.
