    Default SHTP Awards Banquet

    Just a heads up. The Awards Banquet for 2016 will be held at the Nawiliwili Yacht Club (NYC) in Lihue.
    It's going to be a wonderfully catered affair with a full bar available and cost considerably less than what the Tahiti Nui (previous years) charged. We also won't be "kicked out" at 9:00 as happened in previous years at Tahiti Nui.

    NYC is really rolling out the red carpet for us and are very excited about hosting us. Their junior sailors will be serving us and generally helping. The young sailors are very excited about hearing about the high seas adventures.

    Obviously, It will be a longer drive from Hanalei and we'll try to assist setting up car pooling. I think it's going to be a fun, relaxed enjoyable time with great friends and wonderful food.

    In early June I will be selling dinner tickets.

    Thanks for the update Susan,
    I, for one, think this is fantastic!
    for those that are planning on shipping their boats home from Kauai, I know there is a plan afoot to sail around the corner in at least a semi-coordinated manner the day before the banquet, perhaps with some of the aforementioned Juniors accompanying. At least that's what I hear.

    Naomi and I planned a bit ahead, and are planning on shifting accommodations to the Marriott in Nawiliwili that evening...

    Thanks for handling this... great development

    [QUOTE=dhusselman;15146]What time does it start??/QUOTE]

    My understanding is:

    Cocktail hour is 1730
    Dinner 1830
    (Above in Tents on the lawn)

    Awards, Story Time and After party in the NYC bar upstairs following dinner.
