Any planning happening for 2017 LongPac?
I assume it will be around the same time as other years. July 5th or June 28th?
June 28th would be great because I will be able to make it.

The preliminary calendar, under the Race Deck thread, has it on the 6th.
The final ratification with YRA was this month so we should get a calendar soon.
Hasn't been set yet. Will probably not change from last time

So I take it that the 1/2 Day course I took last year is sufficient for the Longpac. Thanks.
I'm planning to do my own 'Long Pac' qualifier as a cruise out of San Diego -- SD to 121 W Longitude and back. I don't understand the log form posted for documenting this myself. Will a simple cruising log with positions recorded every 12 hours or so, plus the GPS track off the chart plotter software be sufficient proof?
100 miles minimum offshore has been the requirement for as long as I can remember (along with the 400 miles total). And no motoring!
I agree: as a past LongPac chair, I would accept what you (AZ Sailor) are proposing to submit as a log.
Sounds good. I am planning to sail west out of SD for 200 nm, out to 32 N 121 W, turn around and come back -- so that gets both the total distance and off shore distance.
