THAT looks like fun!
The thing with these little boats is that you have to re-think what's fun about sailing. You won't be hammering up the slot at 3:00 in the afternoon in July on RoG.
What got me going on the skerry was visions of beach camping in Puget Sound and Maine. Come to find out that in fact you can't really do much of that around here because there are only about 3-4 places from San Jose to Stockton where you can pull up on a beach and pitch a tent. It caused me to re-think, and if I were doing it again I might get/build a more performance-sailing dinghy.
If I didn't have visions of another SHTP, then something along the lines of a 17-18 foot version of what you've got right there would strongly appeal. HOWEVER... Horseshoe Cove to Owl Harbor, YES!
