Well now I suddenly have more motivation, if I finish mine we can have DH Ulua canoe racing in the Estuary. Windward/leeward , paddle or sail. Or maybe out front of Richmond, or even Santa Cruz.

I still think that an SSS "Dinky Boat RAID" is a great idea. Starting in the Bay and going to somewhere in the Delta over 2-3 days would be a blast.
I may deck over the bow and stern of the skerry, or figure out a way to make a waterproof cloth "foredeck"

Or a raid from the mouth of Tomales bay (Dillon beach) to Inverness and back --
Yes, please! I used to think I'd find time and seaworthiness to cruise Tomales on a "big" boat. Being neck-deep in yet another round of projects on a keelboat that isn't quite worth the hassle and recent visits to Heart's Desire Beach and Lake Tahoe has me thinking about downsizing to an easily towable camp-cruiser as well.
Was thinking more along the lines of the Sam Devlin type mini-yacht format, but something fast like that RoG clocking 9.5 kts...pretty rad.
Okay how about (former) Johnson Oyster Farm to Horseshoe Cove?
We better do this one in September.
That's up in Drakes Bay isn't it? Woooo. Little boats in the ocean.

I've been talking to Bedard about making it a cat boat. It would sure be nice to not have that thwart in the cockpit.
That's obviously my crude photoshop mock up. Not the designers'. It's using the same main mast height but lower aspect ratio. I want to keep the mast step in the same position for ease of construction.
Here's another crude mock up of a bigger rig in the same position. In the Everglades Challenge competitors need to lower their rigs and paddle under a bridge and so the attraction of split rigs.
