Nathalie's response to this lame excuse? "Like 'My grandmother is sick'." Seriously, Bob? Ragtime! had three intact spreaders.

Congratulations on Brian / Red Sky for winning the 2017 ZYC Challenge overall
Congratulations on Greg / Nightmare for winning the Rookie division

yes ZYC stands for Zavarin Yacht Club named after its Commodore Serge Zavarin. ZYC holds the most prestigious solo sailing rally to the Lightship on the West Coast...complete with trophies and prizes.

Participants get to vote on the date for the following year's event. ZYC Challenge has only one course: around the lightship any which way and back to where it started (somewhere on the Bay) and one specificity: one person per boat. It is entirely free. Its goal is to make it as easy as can be to sail solo near coastal.

If you have done the event in the past and liked it - please spread the word. If you'd like to do the event next year, let me know and we can include you on the scheduling thread or just watch this space for date info.
