The lads and lasses in the Association were a bit after me to document the work, so i started a blog.

    ...update it today.

Alpha is now safely ensconced in dry storage (with puddles and feral french lop-ear bunnies) right by the Bethel Island bridge.

Me? I'm fine...walking and talking but dealing with some lower back stenosis, which hurts a lot between 4:00 and 6:00 in the morning, but otherwise is pretty manageable.

I've been invited to fly back and sail in their annual Piper One Design championships in August. It's seriously tempting....it's only money, right?

Ow, back trouble sucks. I wrenched mine in my 20s and it is a constant PITB. Actually, I meant "you too" about the rudder. Seems there's a lot of rudder issues going around as well. Good luck deciding on the Piper Championships! That sounds like fun. Fun -- and especially having fun sailing -- is way more important than money IMO (which might explain why I have so little of the latter these days...)

In light of the Class website going through a major rebuild, I've renamed the Piper Blog URL

I went by my local bulk metal shop this morning....no bronze. Dammit. I'd rather give him the business, but no such luck. So I used the debit card, will pay for shipping and ordered the bronze rod out of which I'll get the lower rudder post machined. It'll be an easy machining job.... just turn about half an inch of one end of the 1" rod to 1/2" diameter and drill two 3/8 inch holes for lag bolts to pin it inside the rudder.

There have been a few updates, and a new URL

    http://swtartan.wixsite.com/piperonedesign

with luck, the new rudder will go on, on Sauturday. That will be a huge milestone.
