Hey, Bob! Where did your insult go? It was very funny.
Hey, Bob! Where did your insult go? It was very funny.
With the refinished cabin sole coming next week, it seemed like a good time to clean the bilge.
Thank you for the Welcome. Since we’re showing off projects including DM’s new electrical thingies, here’s the before and after of DAZZLER’s new electrical panel installed today. The original just wasn’t up to my standards.
P.S. Yes, incase you noticed, the teak & holly plywood has also been refinished.

Very nice installation! I love Blue Sea's stuff. Not as much as Harken's stuff, but it's close.
Reading this with some trepidation from my one night slip in Benicia. DM and I are returning to a much changed E dock! Classier! Two additional singlehanders! Higher end doohickies! Bilges cleaner than my kitchen floor in Oakland!
DM has mud everywhere forward and aft. Her water bottles are empty, there are spiderwebs in her rigging and in her cockpit drains. And oh yeah, her porta pottie is full. I tried to use the pumpout here yesterday. It didn’t work.
Her bottom, however, is sparkly clean. See ya soon, kids.

Nicely done Alan. I like the starboard panel for quick access.
Gee Bob, if you drop one of your white sailing gloves in that bilge you won't be able to see it.
I was hoping Philpott would give it the white glove test, but she was gone by the time I arrived at RYC.
No wonder - I heard DM maintained 12.9 knots coming down from Benicia - exactly 12.9 the whole trip. Impressive.
That's an exaggeration. I motorsailed the whole way and made it to RYC in under three hours. 10.1 maximum speed with the ebb. I love the ebb coming back from the Delta. During the last three summer returns it has been a bash: https://vimeo.com/230831573
But the whole return this year from Rio Vista to Benicia to Richmond, was across flat water with little breeze. I might even experience a little Delta amnesia and go again this year. This early in the year there weren't any bugs! Seriously. I kept my companionway and hatch open every night. Don't know why.
Here was my anchorage up Delta during my last evening at anchor. Where is it? Well, that's my little secret, isn't it?
