    Default Spring Cruise-in

    I propose Saturday March 23rd.

The YRA calendar has the following for that Saturday:

StFYC -Spring dinghy - Saint Francisco YC
CYC Championship Series - Corinthian YC
Rites of Spring, OYC - Oakland YC
Jaws Pursuit Race, SYC - Stockton YC?
Rosenblum Regatta - San Francisco YC

and I don't THINK that we likely have a lot of members that would be affected by those.

Suggestions on where to go? Last time some folks suggested the Presidio Yacht Club, which seems like a good idea to me. I'll wait couple of weeks for suggestions and if people don't chime in, I'll call Presidio and set it up.

    Hi Alan -
you're likely correct about the impact of other events, though I can say we abandoned this weekend for Corinthian last season due to the howling about the conflicts with Rites of Spring.
I think that MOSTLY affects the Oakland/ Alameda constituents, and in the context of the larger "official" events (eg ~200+ boats for Corinthian) there are other considerations about pulling participants from other clubs events and being a good neighbor.

FWIW. Not sayin' you're wrong, just giving you some context re Rites of Spring.

OK, I didn’t know that the Rites of Spring was a shorthanded event. I’ll get out the racing schedule and look for another weekend.
