Did you talk to Greg Nelson about making a rudder? Might be worth giving Greg a call.

Hey Jackie, I tried msg'ing you and you're over quota!

I got a custom-designed (Antrim) , custom-built (Waterrat) rudder for my O-34. The boat handled nicer, and the new bearings were nice too. There were lots of issues, exacerbated by my ignorance and inexperience, and the cost was pretty high. Looks like Foss is a much better way to go for your boat, if you are looking for a replacement and not a performance re-design.

She did..... for a fiberglass rudder on a stainless post they are very competitive price wise for a standard fiberglass production rudder, economies of scale and all that. I'd have to sub-contract the stainless/welding work and you know that is not inexpensive locally.

FYI, the design is an updated shape.

That is going to be super nice, Jackie! It just has that cool rudder "look", ya know? I can't wait to hear how different DM feels with a new rudder. Plus, you'll just have an added level of confidence knowing the rudder is solid. Never a bad thing at all when one is refreshing an older boat...

It's been cold and rainy, so it's a good time for DM to get a hot-ruddered bum.
