    Default Liferaft rental

Sals cancelled my order today! This, after providing a certificate for inspection saying they had a raft for us, just on Friday!

    I'm utterly flummoxed.

Where are you guys/gals renting life rafts from these days?

I don't know. I hit their website, sent them $324 via PayPal about a week and a half ago. A day or two later I heard back from them that the website wasn't working right and that they couldn't process my PayPal payment. I talked to 'em on the phone, was told that they'd reimburse my paypal account and I could pay for the raft rental when I picked it up. All good.

Last Wednesday I asked them for a certificate saying that they'd rented me a raft, so George would have it for Skye's inspection this weekend, and also becausse the deadline for having all that stuff done was approaching. They e-mailed me the certificate, showing that the rental unit had been inspected, passed, etc.

Today I have three e-mail from them, early this morning.

One says that my PayPal account will be credited
The second says that it HAS been credited...and I have e-mail from PayPal confirming that
The Third says that my order has been cancelled because they don't have the stock to cover it.

    I'm stunned.

Hey, I was told that my PayPal / Credit Union would be reimbursed for the $321.75 that I spent to reserve the raft, but that apparently hasn't happened, yet. I just checked PayPal.

I believe our agreement over the phone was that you'd reimburse my PayPal account and I'd pay the shop for the rental when I picked it up on July 2nd. I don't care, either way, I just don't want you guys to insist on another payment when I pick up the raft. My Credit Union account has been debited the $321.75 so as far as I know, you guys have your deposit.

    Dear Alan Hebert,

Your order #1027 was cancelled because we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order.

I'm completely flummoxed. I've never had anything but A++ service and help from Sal and the shop. They've always been the Go-To guys/gals for liferafts in my book.

Thanks to Dave H....renting his Winslow.

Again I'm just flummoxed. Yes, it's been years since I've interacted with Sals but every single time in the past the experience has been A1. So ????

    color me confused.

okay now I'm confused. Does anyone else have one I can rent? Maybe a nice light one like David's? I just called Sal's and they can't find my reservation (made by Vicente). My Coleman keeps going flat so we can't use that.
