Greetings! I am relocating to the south bay area from southern CA and would love to get involved. I have a good amount of sailing experience, learning just when I was a young grom at the Leeway Sailing Center in Long Beach, CA. Since then I have owned several boats myself ranging from a Lido 14 to a Catalina 30. I will be moving to the are mid next month to start a new job as a utility forester.

Please contact me if you have any info, or can help me become a part of the SF bay sailing community! Much thanks

My email is sammcc955@yahoo.com if you would like to contact me there, or on this thread

    Cheers!
    -Sam M.

Hi Sam, it's Carliane your friendly webmaster. I hope my compatriots will give you a tip or two for starting your new sailing life in the Bay area. They tend to be a shy bunch at first but warm up quickly. They're quirky though. You gotta like quirky.

If you're around for our race to Half Moon Bay, give us a shout to see who's doing the race doublehanded and might need crew.

In South Bay, there are two marinas in Redwood City and a sailing school. The latter has a club membership, with free sailing activities and access to charter boats:

Sequoia Yacht club is a YC nearby. I think they have a crew program for members:

    And there's https://westpointharbor.com/

Update! I have decided on a place to rent in Morgan Hill. Does anyone have sailing contacts in Santa Cruz?

Go down to the fuel dock on a Wednesday night before 6:00 with a six pack and stick your thumb out, and you should get a ride from now til clocks fall back.
Santa Cruz is a great harbor!
