Thread: Manual Bilge Pumps?

    Although those portable “tube style” pumps satisfy the requirement, they really don’t seem very practical for a singlehander.
    Isn't the requirement for a fixe mount manual above and below deck? Might be other races I'm thinking of.

    correct (other races).
    current requirements are for fixed cockpit mount, options are open for the 2nd.

    Hull and Structure:
    Dewatering pumps 2.5.2
    A boat shall have a second manual or electric bilge pump of at least 10 GPM capacity,
    operable from below deck. Portable pumps must have sufficient hose to discharge water
    directly from the cabin to the exterior of the yacht. SSS Change
