This just in from HMB YC
We are looking forward to seeing you all Saturday!
Well, our clubhouse remains closed, but we will have the bathrooms and showers open for you (access is in the rear of the event center), and our large deck and outside picnic tables are open for your use.
Currently San Mateo County COVID rules don’t allow us to sell drinks separate from food, but we are planning to offer bottled beer or wine with slices of pizza. Not as swanky as previous dinners but it’s something in these crazy times! (Also due to our liquor license rules, you aren’t allowed to bring your own alcohol to consume on our deck or tables.)
Hope you all have a great sail to Half Moon Bay!
Fair winds,
Karen

So air quality looking really bad. Do we have a plan/time for cancelling the race?
The consensus in the skippers' meeting was to leave it up to the skippers to drop out of they don't like how it looks or how they're feeling.
Visibility in the central bay is nada - ok, maybe 50 feet and has been all morning.
Even with a mask the air is tough on the body - tomorrow into Sunday looks the same or worse.
Rescheduling would be prudent.
Thank you for the effort.
Take care everyone.

This was from Wednesday at 11:00 AM sailing north toward Angel Island. I needed my headlamp.
My diver called at 0830, hoping I'd pull the plug so he wouldn't have to clean the hull. His compressor draws in the ambient air.
I did. I'll see you guys in Vallejo, if we're all still here.
First world problems - my thoughts are with the firefighters and those who have lost homes and loved ones. I won't even mention the political crisis we're in (well, I just did).

You gave him my lemon things? That's worth more than his fee.
But thanks - he's earning them today.
