The last time we were up there with SJSC, (maybe 5 years ago), Napa YC didn't have much water at their dock, and we all anchored bow and stern in the stream. They didn't charge us; we landed our dinghys at their dock, and they let us use their wonderful barbecue pit and two large picnic tables. A pleasant dinghy ride (or walk) to town. It is a small, well kept, friendly club.

Maybe management has changed. That wasn’t offered.

Uh-oh! Will I need a dinghy? I guess I need one for Hanalei, anyway. I was gonna buy an inflatable kayak.

My little Achilles dinghy has only been out of its bag once since the 2008 SHTP. It still had genuine Hanalei Bay sand inside.

Recently some people cleaned and tested it. Fortunately it wasn't necessary to pull out its repair bag - the Achilles Heal.

It sounds like I may be able to use it in Napa.

We could have a dinghy race. We'll need another prize. I've already ordered the kite, the Hawaiian shirt, Captain Ron, Sailing the Bay and the Jimmy Buffet CD. Ah Tradition. Something you can count on whenever everything else goes sideways.

There has never been a hula dancer bobble-head. You're new here, aren't you?

I wonder if I could knock out a $60, 7 foot Portugese Dinghy and a pair of oars in time. If I could, I wonder if I could tow it....

Maybe it's time for other prizes? And yes, I'm relativity new.
