Default Lively Lady is looking for next caretaker

Lively Lady is a strip plank Mull 30 built professionally in 1967 by American Marine.

When launched, she was way ahead of her time and today remains a remarkable, beautiful and fast sailing vessel.

Lively Lady continues to show her speed, winning numerous races including many SORC matches and more bay races than most remember.

She is a delightful short handed boat with a wonderful history.

I spent a great deal of time rebuilding her and making her safe to race and take the family out. She is still a very cool, comfortable, and stiff boat -- and in a breeze faster upwind than most boats her size.

Lively Lady comes with nice racing sails, a suite of older Dacron sails that are perfect for cruising, plus an A-Sail.

For power, Lively Lady includes a reliable Mercury 6hp 4 stroke that starts on the second pull.
Also included: new radio with AIS, carbon fiber sprit and boom, a new 10 amp 12 volt Dakota lithium battery for the AIS radio and house.

Bottom was painted 30 months ago and looks great today.

Mull 30s are quite special. Anyone would be very hard pressed to find a better sailboat with such a strong heritage, joy to sail, beer can race, win the Master Mariners Regatta or even weekend cruise.

Make me an offer. I want her to go to a good home.

I know I never have gotten the full speed out of her like many others have but in a blow on the bay there are few boats her size that go up wind as fast and are as stiff as she is. I have been sailing with her A-sail in a sock and she moves at a nice pace too.

We had a blast last week sailing her. We were on track to win the Master Mariners Regatta Ocean 2 class but shrimped the Spinnaker costing us 10 minutes of dead stop. bummer.

I will begin to redo reseal the port lights and varnish the trim. She will be ready to take in 2 or 3 weeks and for a summer of care free sailing or racing. YRA PHRF is 156.

Asking 4k which is bargain for this wonderful boat.

I have spend a little more of time with LL. resealed her toe rails; Her sides and interior are painted. Will refresh the deck next. I really hadn't posted it up for sale but here. Not surprisingly nobody inquired. For me, it has never been about the money but finding friends to sail with and against. My desire is that Mulls will be able to continue sail and race together in the future.

I can not understand why she has had little interest over these past 6 months. She is a fantastic shorthanded boat.

I just want her to go to a good home - not really interested in any serious money for her. pm me if you are interested.

If I don't find who loves her like i do soon, I may be looking for a trailer and send her to places that are on my bucket list.

So we raced the 2023 Master Mariners - she wasn't sailed much all year. She was fast but not fast enough as we lost our way to a mark...
Epic time on one of the best regatta traditions on the west coast.

A fine, short handed old racer with a deep cockpit sailboat still seeking the next caretaker. If you know someone who is looking for a great boat for most SSS racing that needs a little TLC this is it - a song or better to the right person. Contemplating some serious other moves that may be part if she is not taken up locally. Wife is actively pushing me to rethink the bucketlist madness.
