I've been asked a number of times how someone can financially contribute to SSS beyond their $170 annual membership fee. The Singlehanded Sailing Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and individuals can make tax deductible donations to the SSS (of course you should always check with your tax advisor). There are a couple of ways to do this. You can go 'old school' and send a check to us at: Singlehanded Sailing Society, PO Box 828, Alameda, CA 94501. While this will work, we do not pick up mail at the PO Box regularly, so there will likely be a delay in the funds getting into our account. The preferred method would be to use our PayPal donation page which you can find here:

As over half of our sailors use PayPal to register for races, this should be straight forward for a lot of you. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this link. You'll be able to use your PayPal account, debit card, or credit card to fund your donation.

On behalf of the SSS board, you have our sincere thanks if you decide to provide additional financial support to the organization. PLEASE REMEMBER, AS A VOLUNTEER RUN ORGANIZATION, YOUR WILLINGNESS TO DONATE YOUR TIME EITHER ON A RACE COMMITTEE OR IN SOME OTHER CAPACITY, CAN BE MORE VALUABLE TO US THAN YOUR FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION. WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO HOLD OUR RACE SCHEDULE BECAUSE INDIVIDUALS STEP UP TO HELP. THANK YOU!
