Default Documents for arrival in Hanelei

Trying to catch up with questions on Seminar #1 before starting on questions for Seminar #2 !

Are these the Hawaii required docs?

That's an application for a transient vessel liquor license. I assume it's for selling liquor to paying passengers while in Maui County waters. Are you planning to do that?

Upon arrival in Kaneohe Bay, Oahu this Summer, we just had to give them a completed agricultural declaration. But we were docking at the yacht club - I think there's some kind of anchoring permit for Hanalei Bay.

I might! I lived in Hawaii for 10 years. Never seen so much bureaucracy and the Liquor Commission ran everything… I searched on terms like transient vessels and thats all that came up...

I think this is what David was talking about: https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dobor/hanale...area-and-pier/ and there is a permit mentioned ...

But I see nothing in the way of forms for permits. There are a lot of forms here https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dobor/forms/… maybe this one for temporary mooring https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dobor/files/...empMooring.pdf

Which ones were you thinking of David?

This should be all that is needed. I could be wrong.
I missed the seminar so there my be more.

In the past it was suggested to have a copy available, but no one was ever asked for it.

In 2021 we still had covid restrictions that were another matter.

^^^the temporary mooring dock that greg posted is the correct one.

in the past, it's true, this was theoretically needed but very rarely asked for.
From my conversations with the Lihue office of DOBOR, there is much more likelyhood that this will be asked after, post covid.

Got it. Thanks. Next up will be a thread on questions about Hanalei resources: where not to moor, diesel at the gas station, food at supermarket, etc. and then I think on to questions about wrt Seminar #2 including emergency rudders which got discussed briefly.
