Carter 30 or Teliga 30 Royale - Anybody knows this boat?

Carter 30 / Teliga 30 Royale - who knows about her?

I'm considering buying a small boat which I want to use for singlehanded cruising - long ocean-passages and living on board for many years.

I came over a Carter 30 built in 1988 in Polen, also known as Teliga 30 Royale. She looks pretty much like the type of boat I'm looking for, but can't find really good information about this boat-type.

Has anybody sailed a Carter 30?
Every information, link, advise, thought is very much appreciated.

Nelsons Marine, here on SF Bay has had a Carter 30 for sale...Not sure if they still have it, but it was on the yard list for a long, long time.

I'm not looking for one to buy. I already found one in the UK I'm interessted in.(this is closer for me- I live in Germany)
I just wanted to get more infomation about experience with this kind of boat.

You may already know that the boat was designed in 1972 and was perhaps the first design built by what is now a major UK yacht builder, and that some of the later boats were built in Poland.

What attracted to this design anyway?

In my case, the decision to by my present boat was an emotional one, reached in the first 3 minutes. The rest of the buying process time was spent in justifying that decision logically.

yes, I know, "Carina", the boat I'm interessted in, is built 1988 in Polen.

She is not really the type of boat I was planning to buy (talking about logic).
I would love to own a Vancouver, but they are simply uneffordable for me.
Looking for the perfect boat, I'll see me growing old and still sitting on land.

As you said, many decisions in life are made emotional and often the best.
I saw her offer and I liked her. I think it is important to "like" a boat.
She has the right size, big enough to live on it and small enough to handle. She is known as fast and also seaworhty with a small cockpit (good for open seas), a skeg (something I really care about) but unfortunately no long keel, just a fin, is well equiped and effordable.

I will have to add more extras - windsteering, more batteries, solar, windgenerator.........and maybe change the boom-in main to a slap-reef main...... and will never have a dull moment the next years.

Will go to England on Easter holidays to see her, sail her and check everything out. If everything turnes out like described I might be a happy, proud boat-owner this summer.

She will be my first boat.
