Skibbereen II for sale $900 OBO
Skibbereen II is looking for a new owner as I am moving out of state. $900 OBO in hopes of giving someone an inexpensive way to try singlehanded sailing.
Skibbereen II is a clean, simple boat. It is a 1991 tall rig, fin keel Catalina Capri 22 set up for racing and singlehanding. YRA PHRF is 198.
The boat was raced in the Midwest by the previous owner (includes a symmetrical spinnaker w/ pole). To switch to salt water I fully redid the bottom with a new epoxy coating and Pettit Vivid antifouling.
The large cockpit seats 4-6. The layout belowdecks can accommodate both racing and local cruising: there are two single berths and a v-berth large enough for two.
Mainsails:
* North Sails dacron (two reefs)
* North Sails laminated
* Catalina original dacron
Jibs:
* Ullman Sails 85% dacron (new)
* 145% genoa laminated
* Catalina original 110% dacron
* Storm jib (new)
Spinnaker:
* Gleason symmetrical w/ pole
For singlehanding:
* Autohelm 800 tiller pilot (see video at the bottom)
* Jacklines
* Jib downhaul
Other:
* 2005 Tohatsu 5 hp outboard
* Tiller extension, boom kicker, anchor, swim ladder, cockpit cushions, battery, porta potty, fenders, life jackets, mooring buoy harness, etc.
No trailer, but there is a mast support post for transporting mast-down (goes in the gudgeons on the transom after removing the rudder).
Slip fees are $254/mo. at Ballena Isle.
