    Default Rode for Chain

    I need 30' of chain. Lost mine in Miner Slough two summers ago. Will exchange for 250' of excellent rope. It's beautiful rope. I'll throw in 15' of chain and a batch of cookies.

    Yes I know I could drive over to Alameda. Lots of the items on myboat are from friends and I am sentimental that way. The faded red cushion borrowed by David Nabors during his 2016 SHTP, the "invisible" burgee from Skip that hangs in my v berth, engine by Dave, flyswatter from Synthia from a Drakes Bay race years ago, an anchor from my friend Kees, and even those reefing lines you left up on Danny's table. If I bought that chain from Blue Pelican it wouldn't have the same value. To me, anyway. Because chain isn't just chain, Bob.
