That local Hawkfarm to which you refer has a pretty cool pedigree, too. And it has a slip in South Beach Harbor, a difficult slip to obtain. 15 year waiting list, right next to the yacht club.

And yes, when Falk arrived in Hanalei Bay I wrote down his opinion of the Shark: "I'm so done with that boat. That boat can float off into the ocean and I wouldn't care."

Yikes, Maybe I should delay my visit this evening. I’m not familiar with the Hawkfarm. I was considering the Olson 25 for a couple of reasons. I want something trailerable due to My location in WA state and I used to own an Olson 29 that I regret selling.

Waiting for some updated pics but I’m thinking about flying down to check out the Hawkfarm.

Um . . . Unless something's changed in the 6 years since I left, slips at South Beach are not transferable when a boat sells.

While I'd love to see that Hawkfarm go to a good home and someone with SHTP aspirations, you will have to factor in getting it up to Washington, too. Again, I'd LOVE to see that Hawkfarm go to a good home and a bunch of them have done SHTP and Doublehanded Pac Cup.

There's a fleet of SC27's and Olson 30's in Honolulu, and think a few in Kaneohe and maybe even a couple in Lihue (on Kauai). That means if you get the boat over there and don't intend to keep it, there will probably be a market for it. Not so much with the Hawkfarm.

In Portland, "project boat" but cheap.

Hi Alan, Whichever boat I end up with I intended to buy a trailer. No plans on selling in Hawaii.

I looked at the Olson in Seattle. It’s a bit overpriced and has A rough paint job. The one in Portland needs mast step repairs. I’m not sure about the one in Tacoma. It was on eBay but shows sold now.

Good boats and as mentioned a couple have done the SHTP.... Tainted Love did it with us in 2000. A bit short for ocean surfing. Shipping was just under $9k for the Olson 29 and Express 27 this year. Also factor in the trip to Oahu, staying in Oahu, the yard and truck and logistics in Oahu and all the cost associated. I'd say factor in at least $10+ for the shipping. It was about $6k back in 2000 for a 30' boat.

Ballpark cost to replace standing rigging on the Hawkfarm? Who do you like for rigging services in the Bay area?
