Default Why SSB ? - is Iridium/Global Star GREEN ?

Is this planet of diminishing ice flows one has to ask are our actions in support of support human life ? Or human extinction ?

An SSB transceiver flows energy through the natural conduits created by the reflective gap between the sea and the ionosphere that provides us with protection from the Suns radiation. The manufacturer of that radio uses resources similar to a modern television.

The satellite hand sets, and associated network, require the support of a 66 satellite cluster, constantly in orbit and undergoing continual replacement. The cost of each launch is approximately the addition of 80,000 gallons of exotic fuels burned into our atmosphere. A total of 4,000,000 gallons of fuels tossed into the ether !

Why use SSB ? It is green, like the sails on your boat.
