Canned Ham RUBY at Costanoa with ocean in the background. At 14' by 1,700 pounds, RUBY's swiveling double front tires with tiller, brake, and winch handle driven chain drive allows variable parking aimed whatever direction appeals for privacy, view, or sunset. Sort of like setting a stern anchor.

Just when I thought the thunderous swell couldn't get any bigger, it did, occasionally breaking an honest mile offshore on a range between Pigeon Point and Ano Nuevo Island in 35 feet of water as measured from the chart.

After telling my wife we scheduled a weekend. Picked up in Point San Pablo Harbor. Climbed the ladder from the boat. Enjoyed nice meals and a tour. Climbed the stairs to the widows walk. Fired up the old diesel air compressor and sounded the fog horn. Every so often I hear the distinctive dual tone from the slip in Marina Bay, Richmond, and makes me smile.

There's the above mentioned widow's walk Milly and crew built in early 1980's.

Though the newer, automated, E.Brothers, compressed air, foghorn can sound every 20 seconds, October-April, the old horn is a magical piece of large machinery that can still give out its unique bellow heard as far as the Richmond neighborhoods and beyond. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwEOAa4v_LE

For something completely different, listen to the "melody" of other foghorns in San Francisco Bay. In zero viz it can be confusing what you are hearing from where, especially if from a large ship underway.

With the delay in reporting views, I am just so sure that this post will exceed 6 million views (within the allowance of around 10,000 views or so.)

With`~ 9,623 views to go to reach 6M, someone is gonna win an autographed copy of Sailing on Wildflower being the first to report the threshold has been achieved. It could be you, or it could be Jackie.

Of course there are delays and some luck involved. This is the SSS after all.

OK, George is the turtle and Robert is the bear, and they are currently coasting the shores of Santa Marta Island on WILDFLOWER.

9460 as of right now. I'm watching ...

I'm on my boat replacing the hose on my waterpump.
Vaccumed out the inside of the engine w a wet vac, water is gushing out the exhaust. Finally. The wind here @ RYC is 24 knots, DM is lurching from side to side.

"There's wind! Why am I still tied to this dock?"

5,992,867 : that's 129 during the past hour. 56 hours away. Shortly after noon on Monday? Insomniac sailors all around the world clicking on New Boat for Sled. Will you really pay postage to send it to Estonia? Oh wait! That guy's down south.
